How to build confidence and success in dating, relationships, and life.

What are your real goals? What do you really want?

If you think about it, whether it is getting in great shape, saving money for that dream vacation, advancing your career, or dating your dream girl, these goals are nothing complicated, but our emotions sure as hell at times make them complicated. 

What we really have to do is do the simple little things that take us closer to these goals. In a lot of ways, this is what I consider a life worth living, or my dream life. 

But that’s enough about me, if this applies to you, or resonates, keep on reading, if not no worries, come back another time. 

Want to get in Great Shape?

Let’s take a look at working out, if it’s been a while, or you are fairly new, what’s the simplest, easiest thing you can do just to get started? For me, working with you, the reader, it might be just joining a gym and walking on the treadmill. 

What does that boil down to? A simple action, followed by a simple 30 minutes, and the habit of doing it. What if you 

What if you are no stranger to the gym, know what to do, are a regular dude, but it’s just been a while? Then maybe for you it’s going three or four days a werk for 30 minutes, and just going on the stairmaster. Maybe it’s just being realistic and deciding if you are a morning or night person, and picking a day and time to go at night. 

It’s simple, it doesn’t mean, go to GNC buy supplements, meal prep for four days, and grill chicken breast. I get it, those are all of the details we add later, for now, just get started, keep it simple, and keep it moving. 

So what stops us doing those simple actions?

Usually it’s our emotions, a feeling of frustration (yes technically that is probably an emotion, but you get my point), and also a thought that goes with it. 

Those emotions suck, get in the way, and are debilitating, they make us feel a certain way, and make us not take the action we know we need to, or even worse take the action that takes away from our goals. 

Guys, if you are here, I hope you are motivated, want to grow and do better, and most all know and feel life is simple, we just make it complicated. Hopefully if you are here, you know the simple things, really do move us forward, bring us contentment, peace, joy and have us enjoying life. Besides, after all the point of life is to enjoy it, not struggle with enormous tasks, and undertakings. 

If you do want to get in great shape, you’re not going to get there tomorrow, but you can build the habits, sustain them, do the little things and feel that natural,human motivation to grow with them, like that 30 minute walk, 30 minutes on the stairs, or that 30 minute chest and bi’s workout (ok realistically, chest and bi’s isn’t 30 minutes, but once again, you get my point). 

Simple habits and simple actions just don’t move you toward your goals, they help you navigate challenges and curveballs life throws your way, like this blog post. It's a simple habit. I write it out by hand, I type it on word, I paste it in a website server and publish. 

What about that Dream Vacation?

What if you want to go on that dream vacation with your friends, girlfriend, or just by yourself. One thing I learned in this self-help journey is money is a tool to get what we want, we just have to be conscious of it. 

So if you want to go on that dream vacation maybe you can’t go next month, but I bet, you know exactly when you can go on it, in a very realistic time frame, like six months of a year from now. 

How do we do that, the simple action of saving money in that savings account that is only for that vacation. You know exactly how much that vacation costs, and how much you can put away in that account, and not think twice about it, so go do it.

What about that career you are going after, that dream job, that test you have to take.

You know when you are going to take that test, or apply for those jobs. Simply apply, update that resume if you need to, and chill out. 

Take a test that is important for school or your career, practice it, 30 minutes a day, 15 minutes a day, whatever is a simple amount of time, to read and practice where you don’t even think twice about it. That;s how you see progress. 

Eventually you see progress, and that element of growth kicks in, and you want to study and grow a little more, or just know all you have to do is keep going and you will be just fine on that test. 

Now my favorite. The dating and relationship part of our lives.

If you are single and see that cute girl, what is the most simple, direct thing you can say, “You’re cute, what’s your name.” What will the result be? Who knew it could be, “Oh Hey, I’m Jessica, what’s your name?” 

Or it could be, “Jessica, Hi,” and she turns back to her friends. More importantly it’s your life, it;s your action, the simple action that dictates how you feel about it. What’s more important you took a simple action, and found out, or you just stood there, feeling weird, anxious and then upset at yourself you didn’t even try. 

Guys I get it, but this is the reality, you have to show up for yourself, just like I show up for myself with these blog posts.
